Position Summary

GroundWork seeks a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain the internal data infrastructure, pipelines, and tools that make laboratory measurement data reliably available to the lab team. This role sits at the intersection of database engineering, data pipeline development, internal tool and application development, and data quality assurance, ensuring that high-integrity datasets are ingested, managed, and surfaced through modern, scalable systems that support the lab’s own analysis and operations. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills in database engineering, data modeling, and software development with familiarity with solar energy measurement, accredited laboratory environments, and regulatory data standards.
As a Data Engineer, you will work closely with GroundWork’s engineering, laboratory, and operations teams to prioritize, design, and deliver robust data pipelines and systems that meet the needs of the laboratory’s internal users. You will leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate the delivery of internal tools and data pipelines, while maintaining the rigor and traceability required in a laboratory and regulatory context. This role requires a technically versatile individual who can work across disciplines to drive data reliability, accessibility, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Subject Matter Expertise: Design, implement, and maintain relational and time-series databases for lab instrument data, environmental measurements, and operational records. Develop and manage ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and store data from IoT sensors, measurement hardware, and remote sensing platforms. Build and deploy internal data access tools and applications using modern frameworks (e.g., Streamlit, FastAPI, React, or similar) to enable lab staff to query, visualize, and export lab data. Apply AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) to accelerate software delivery while maintaining code quality and auditability appropriate for a laboratory environment.
• Data Quality Assurance & Control: Develop and enforce QA/QC protocols to validate incoming data from lab instruments and field sensors in accordance with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., ISO 17025 or similar). Implement automated checks, flagging routines, statistical validation, and audit trails to detect anomalies, missing data, and calibration drift. Maintain defensible data records that satisfy chain-of-custody and traceability requirements. Ensure data integrity from acquisition through delivery to downstream consumers.
• Database Architecture & Optimization: Architect and optimize database schemas for performance, scalability, and ease of access. Evaluate and recommend appropriate database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, time-series) based on data volume, query patterns, and the lab’s analysis and reporting requirements.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with lab engineers, metrology staff, and operations to understand data access requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Serve as the primary point of contact for the lab’s internal data availability and reporting needs.
• Internal Tool & Application Development: Design and build internal data access tools, dashboards, and reporting interfaces using modern full-stack frameworks (e.g., React, FastAPI, Streamlit, Plotly Dash). Leverage AI-assisted development environments (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) to accelerate development cycles while ensuring maintainability, security, and compliance with lab data governance requirements. Enable non-technical lab staff to explore, filter, and export lab datasets through intuitive interfaces without requiring direct database access.
• Data Governance & Documentation: Maintain comprehensive data dictionaries, schema documentation, and data lineage records consistent with laboratory quality management systems. Contribute to laboratory SOPs and data management plans. Stay current with emerging data engineering technologies, AI tooling, and laboratory informatics practices to continuously improve the lab’s data infrastructure.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in data engineering, database engineering, ETL/ELT pipeline development, or a related technical discipline, preferably in a laboratory, engineering, or renewable energy context. Experience designing and operating production data pipelines and infrastructure is required. Experience in photovoltaic (PV) testing, solar energy measurement, or a physical laboratory environment is highly preferred.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, data science, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar); familiarity with time-series or NoSQL databases a plus.
  • Proficiency in Python (pandas, SQLAlchemy, FastAPI, or similar) for data engineering, scripting, and backend service development.
  • Hands-on experience designing and operating ETL/ELT data pipelines and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or similar), including scheduling, dependency management, and pipeline monitoring.
  • Experience building web applications or data dashboards using tools such as Streamlit, Dash, FastAPI, React, or modern AI-assisted development environments (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code); ability to deliver functional, user-facing tools rapidly using AI pair-programming workflows.
  • Experience implementing QA/QC workflows for instrument or sensor data, including anomaly detection, validation rules, statistical flagging, and audit logging; familiarity with laboratory quality management standards (e.g., ISO 17025, GLP, or similar regulatory frameworks) is a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to translate complex technical data concepts for non-technical stakeholders including lab engineers and business analysts.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD practices, and cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP); experience with containerization (Docker) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) to write, debug, and refactor code; comfort evaluating AI-generated outputs for correctness, security, and suitability in a regulated laboratory data environment.
  • Understanding of laboratory informatics concepts and data management in accredited or regulated settings; experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) or similar platforms is a plus.

Position Summary

The CAD Services and Design Systems Engineer is the technical owner of GroundWork’s engineering design environment. This role ensures that design tools, standards, workflows, automation, and controlled design data enable consistent, efficient, manufacturable, and field-ready engineering deliverables.

Operating with a high degree of independence, this position provides functional leadership within the Systems Engineering department through standards, expertise, training, and platform ownership. As well as, partners with Key Stakeholders (Manufacturing, Field Services, Project Management, IT, and Procurement) it does not supervise employees or own final engineering design approval.

Key Responsibilities

CAD Standards and Platform Ownership

• Serve as the Engineering owner for AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Bluebeam, and related design applications, configurations, add-ins, workspaces, profiles, plot settings, and approved integrations.
• Coordinate with IT on software deployment, account provisioning, access controls, version updates, backups, and technical support boundaries.
• Administer and optimize design-software licensing with IT and Procurement, including license allocation, utilization monitoring, renewals, vendor coordination, and cost-control recommendations.
• Own, document, release, and maintain CAD and graphical model and drawing standards, including templates, title blocks, layers, annotations, symbols, standard blocks, assemblies, details, drawing numbers, file naming, revision conventions, plotting, and PDF/markup practices.
• Establish controlled methods to release, revise, retire, and archive standard CAD assets and prevent obsolete content from being used.
• Maintain approved sample drawing packages, reusable design libraries, and documented standards aligned with current GroundWork products and manufacturing practices.
• Facilitate standards decisions with engineering stakeholders and ensure approved changes are implemented consistently across tools and workflows.
• Support document-control and configuration-control requirements without assuming ownership of engineering authority, the item master, or formal change approval.

CAD Automation and Engineering Productivity

• Identify, prioritize, develop, test, and deploy automation that reduces repetitive design work and improves drawing-package throughput.
• Maintain a documented automation backlog prioritized by business value, implementation effort, risk, and expected engineering hours saved.
• Measure realized productivity improvements and maintain supportable documentation, version control, testing, and recovery methods for deployed automation.

Drawing Quality Systems

• Assist with developing and maintaining CAD-specific QA/QC checklists, automated standards checks, drawing-package readiness criteria, and approved reference examples.
• Analyze redlines, rework, standards-related findings, and recurring documentation defects to identify root causes and corrective improvements.
• Ensure that released drawings use current templates, libraries, naming conventions, and graphical standards.
• Support peer reviews and drawing-package readiness reviews while preserving the responsible engineer’s accountability for technical correctness and final approval.
• Translate recurring manufacturing and field-documentation issues into approved improvements to details, templates, standards, and training.
• Serve as the design-technology integration partner to the System Configuration/PLM function for AutoCAD, Inventor, PLM/PDM, NetSuite, SKU, BOM, and controlled-document workflows.
• Provide and track training completion, demonstrated competency, and adoption of current standards and workflows.

Cross-Functional Design Improvement

• Partner with engineers and Stakeholders to implement approved new and revised product designs, standard assemblies, and documentation improvements.
• Establish feedback loops with Manufacturing and Field Services to improve drawing clarity, manufacturability, installability, and serviceability.
• Support complex design, prototyping, standards development, and temporary workload surges; routine production drafting is a limited secondary responsibility.
• Participate in process-improvement initiatives affecting the creation, review, release, and downstream use of engineering documentation.
• Communicate platform risks, technical debt, adoption barriers, and investment needs to Systems Engineering leadership.

Qualifications & Experience

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, computer-aided design, information systems, or a closely related technical field; equivalent advanced technical training and relevant experience may be considered.
• Seven or more years of progressive experience supporting engineering design, CAD administration, design technology, drafting standards, or related engineering workflows.
• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD and demonstrated experience administering Autodesk products (Inventor, Electrical, and MEP), profiles, standards, templates, libraries, and user environments.
• Demonstrated ability to create and maintain CAD standards, controlled design assets, QA/QC methods, and technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of engineering-document lifecycles, revision control, metadata, BOMs, SKUs, and cross-functional product documentation.
• Experience integrating CAD or PDM platforms with PLM, ERP, or product-data systems; NetSuite experience is preferred.
• Experience in renewable energy, utility-scale solar, meteorological systems, industrial equipment, electrical enclosures, instrumentation, or engineered-to-order manufacturing.
• Knowledge of design for manufacturability, installation, serviceability, and long-term reliability.
• Experience working with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM/PDM), or process-improvement systems.
• Experience building design-technology roadmaps, business cases, software evaluations, migration plans, and adoption programs.

GroundWork Renewables is seeking a Systems Configuration Engineer to join our Systems Engineering team. This role requires a strong knowledge base in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), SKU Management, Bill of Material (BOM) creation, solar energy production projects and meteorological product design and functionality. This person will operate with a high degree of independence while interfacing regularly with engineering, sales, manufacturing, and project management teams. The ideal candidate is technically rigorous, detail-oriented, and comfortable serving as the primary configuration authority across the full project lifecycle — from initial sales qualification through manufacturing handoff and field deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Systems/Product Requirements Management

Serve as the technical interface between customers, sales, project teams, and engineering to define project requirements.

• Review customer specifications, RFPs, and measurement objectives to determine sensor and equipment requirements
• Identify project-specific constraints, risks, and technical assumptions
• Develop technical compliance matrices and maintain requirements traceability
• Generate customer clarification requests and develop client technical requirement logs

SKU & Product Configuration Management

• Create and maintain SKUs across new and existing projects, sales proposals, manufacturing, spare parts, and O&M projects using NetSuite software suite.
• Manage sub-assemblies, configurable product structures, and NetSuite SKU attributes governance
• Ensure consistency between manufacturing, and sales product SKU’s.
• Provide technical support during opportunity development and proposal creation.
• Work with System Engineering team to lead the development and refinement of product configurations for meteorological devices and solar energy systems during proposal phases
• Estimate engineering and deployment requirements; identify technical risks during bid development
• Support customer technical discussions and sales qualification activities

System Architecture & Configuration

• Standardize SKU creation and usage for various system configurations where possible; produce system architecture details and configuration packages.
• Lead the selection and Implementation of a new Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) program
• Inform project-specific Bills of Materials (BOMs) and configuration drawings.
• Develop the specific system configuration required to meet project requirements using GroundWork’s product portfolio.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Documentation

• Liaise with project managers, sales, and stakeholders to gather and align-on product and project requirements.
• Coordinate with manufacturing teams to ensure proper assembly, BOM readiness, and testing of solar energy systems and meteorological equipment.
• Participate in peer review checks on project documentation prior to submission to clients or manufacturing.
• Guide various tasks and components of larger projects; interface with internal stakeholders.
• Evaluate client requirements for feasibility during technical meetings and documentation reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

• Extensive experience (5-7 years) with configuration management, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Tools, ERP or product data management (PDM) systems (NetSuite experience preferred), and/or BOM governance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment and independently with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time to GroundWork offices, project sites, manufacturing facilities, vendor locations, and other business locations as needed.
• 3+ years of experience in Meteorological systems and equipment used for Solar Energy Assessment and, preferably with a focus on Utility Scale – Solar energy projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Tools (Vault, Inventor, Fusion, or Electrical).
• Experience with sensors and hardware is a plus (e.g., pyranometers, all-in-one weather stations, wind, hail, data loggers, etc.).
• Preference for knowledge and experience working in various testing environments (Bench, laboratory, and field testing).
• Ability to understand design systems for ease of manufacturability, installation, and long-term reliability.

We’re hiring an experienced Director of Advisory Services to lead technical due diligence and advisory services for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects. You’ll collaborate closely with other members of the Advisory Team, along with Sales, Marketing, and Operations.

• Lead comprehensive technical due diligence efforts: from initiation to project completion, provide technical insights, and direct construction and completion monitoring for energy assets.
• Build and maintain client relationships: operate with clients as a key strategic partner and advisor, providing clear insights and support through financing processes. Ensure client satisfaction and long-term partnership growth.
• Guide internal teams: provide oversight for multidisciplinary teams (advisory, sales, engineering, and others) with clear direction and oversight. Offer your experience to train and mentor others, while continuing to engage in new learning opportunities.
• Develop high-quality deliverables: consistently defensible, finance-ready work products while meeting required schedules and budgets.
• Market insight: Anticipate and assess industry shifts and emerging technologies to support organizational competitiveness, while guiding strategic decision making.
• Technical proficiency: deep understanding of solar and energy storage power plants and equipment, project development lifecycle, financing requirements and expectations, and relevant project counterparties. Experience with other technologies is a plus.

Qualifications & Experience

• Leadership: 8-12 years in the energy industry, including 5+ years leading technical teams performing owner’s and/or independent engineering services. Renewables, energy, industrial data, or instrumentation experience preferred. Experience managing and leading technical SMEs is preferred.
• Strategic & analytical: Proven ability to support financing and tax equity investment decisions through informed communications and technical knowledge.
• Technical: Experience with all facets of project development, solar and storage technologies, and broad technical knowledge of contractual arrangements (offtake, interconnection, EPC contracts, O&M contracts, and financial models). Subject matter expertise in a particular focus area is advantageous. Greater consideration will be given to applicants that have experience performing technical due diligence for energy storage systems or individuals who have mechanical and structural engineering expertise.
• Collaboration & communication: Track record operating cross-functionally with multiple internal teams, external clients, and individuals with both technical and non-technical backgrounds.

Position Summary

The Revenue Operations Coordinator supports the systems, data, and processes that keep GroundWork’s Sales team selling. Reporting to the Manager of Revenue Operations, this role focuses on the processes and people that enable revenue, including targeted support to Account Executives (AEs). Primary responsibilities include CRM hygiene, pipeline and activity reporting, lead intake and routing, sales tool enablement, and process documentation. The Coordinator will be expected to quickly learn and manage processes already in place, suggest improvements, apply judgement within scope, and independently drive assigned workstreams. Your success will compound across the Sales team by contributing to high-leverage work that frees up selling time for AEs

Key Responsibilities

• Support CRM data integrity: Assist the Manager of Revenue Operations in administering HubSpot day-to-day. Enforce data-entry standards set by RevOps, audit deal and account records for accuracy and completeness, and help reconcile data across HubSpot, NetSuite, and supporting systems. Bring judgment to ambiguous records and escalate patterns, not one-offs.
• Support CRM hygiene: Monitor pipeline opportunity stages, close dates, estimated delivery dates, and forecast categories for compliance with RevOps standards. Partner with AEs to resolve discrepancies and flag issues to the Manager of Revenue Operations ahead of weekly and monthly forecast reviews.
• Support the Account Executive team: Absorb administrative tasks that divert AEs from selling, including lead entry, prospect research, meeting preparation, CRM data preparation, and ad-hoc deal support. Serve as a first line of support for AEs and Solutions Engineers on HubSpot, reporting, and RevOps-owned processes.
• Execute lead intake and routing: Manage the inbound lead queue per RevOps guidelines. Triage, qualify, enrich, and route leads to the appropriate AE per Named Account and territory rules. Track handoff quality and surface process gaps to RevOps leadership.
• Reporting and analysis: Generate recurring pipeline, activity, conversion, and bookings reports for Sales and Revenue Operations leadership. Maintain HubSpot dashboards and support ad-hoc analysis for forecasting, territory planning, and commission calculations under the direction of the Manager of Revenue Operations.
• Drive assigned RevOps workstreams: Execute projects assigned by the Manager of Revenue Operations—system configuration changes, data cleanup initiatives, workflow automation, integration rollouts, and sales tool implementations—scoping the work, coordinating stakeholders, and driving to completion with regular check-ins rather than hand-holding.
• Support bookings and deal desk: Assist Revenue Operations in validating orders against the bookings checklist. Confirm artifact completeness, flag exceptions, and coordinate with Sales, Finance, Legal, and Project Management to clear deficiencies and accelerate handoff.
• Maintain documentation and surface improvements: Keep RevOps SOPs, playbooks, and training materials up to date. Surface recurring friction points in the sales workflow and propose process or automation improvements for the Manager of Revenue Operations to evaluate, including AI-enabled workflows across HubSpot, NetSuite, lead generation, and related systems.

Qualifications & Experience

• CRM fluency: 3+ years of hands-on experience administering or operating in a CRM (HubSpot strongly preferred; Salesforce or equivalent acceptable), including building views, dashboards, workflows, and custom properties. Able to work independently within the system once objectives are set.
• Analytical skill: Strong Excel and Google Sheets proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, conditional logic); comfort reconciling data across multiple systems and communicating findings clearly. Exposure to SQL, BI tools, scripting, and prompt engineering a plus.
• Execution and judgment: Track record of taking assigned workstreams and driving them to completion with regular check-ins rather than step-by-step direction. Comfortable raising questions early, proposing options when uncertain, and distinguishing decisions that require escalation from those that don’t.
• Process orientation: Experience operating within documented processes, SOPs, or playbooks, and contributing to their improvement over time. Familiarity with workflow automation and AI-enabled tooling is a plus.
• Stakeholder coordination: Demonstrated ability to coordinate across Sales, Finance, Legal, and Operations; communicates clearly in writing and verbally; follows up without being asked.
• Detail orientation: High standard for data accuracy and documentation quality. Comfortable identifying inconsistencies others miss.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Travel Requirements: Minimal; occasional travel for team meetings or industry events.

Position Summary

GroundWork’s Systems Engineering team turns project requirements into the MET stations, Module Monitors, and hail monitoring systems that measure what utility-scale solar plants actually experience. As a Systems Engineer II, you will take design packages from configuration through construction and Manufacturing drawing sets using various Autodesk tools. Also, working alongside various internal and external Stakeholders (i.e. Sales, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Field). The data these systems collect feeds energy yield models and financing decisions, so drawing accuracy and build quality matter. You will work independently on defined scopes, with review and mentorship from senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate project requirements into construction and Manufacturing drawing packages to GroundWork design standards, using AutoCAD MEP, AutoCAD Electrical, and Autodesk Inventor to create 30%, 60%, 90%, IFC, and As-Built drawings.
• Review client specifications for feasibility and flag gaps early, in technical meetings and document reviews.
• Gather requirements from Sales, Project Management, and Field, and coordinate design changes with internal teams and external partners.
• Support the Burbank manufacturing team through assembly and testing, resolve build issues, and feed lessons back into the design.
• Own defined portions of larger projects and ensure customer requirements are met.
• Perform peer reviews of drawings and project documentation before release to clients or Manufacturing.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in the Autodesk suite (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD MEP, Inventor).
• Ability to build detailed design packages that account for manufacturability, installation, and long-term field reliability.
• Strong written and verbal communication, sound problem-solving, and the ability to work independently in a distributed team.

Preferred

• Experience with meteorological measurement systems for solar resource assessment and monitoring, ideally on utility-scale projects.
• Hands-on experience with solar measurement hardware: pyranometers, all-in-one weather stations, wind and hail sensors, back-of-module temperature sensors (TBOMs), soiling stations, and data loggers.
• Experience in bench, laboratory, or field testing environments.
• Bluebeam or other engineering review and markup software.
