During solar plant construction, GroundWork partners with Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors to meet and exceed owner requirements.
MET Solutions for Solar Power Plant Construction
GroundWork delivers uncompromising solar data quality through precision measurement and world-class services .
At GroundWork we take pride in providing the highest quality reference solar data.
The GroundWork Zenith MET System is a revenue-grade weather station that accelerates the success of utility-scale solar by providing the best reference data to increase the accuracy of solar power performance modeling.
GroundWork offerings during the construction phase of solar power plants include:
- MET system design engineering services
- Equipment supply, fabrication and testing
- Installation and commissioning of MET systems and reference sensors
- System design and submittals
Zenith MET System complies with the IEC 61724-1 international standard and includes options for:
- Orbit array-mounted packages
- Albedo measurement
- Snow depth, hail, and other ancillary MET measurements
- Eclipse for full-sized module soiling and effective irradiance measurement
- FracSun Ares for self-cleaning soiling measurement
The Zenith offers the highest data accuracy and availability in the utility-scale solar industry for the lowest installation and maintenance costs. Sensor ventilation and heating, onboard data quality assessment, and predictive maintenance alerts deliver best-in-class measurement accuracy. Standardized data mapping, a comprehensive drawing package, and partial factory assembly streamline integration. Industrial grade hardware and a 5-year warranty minimize O&M costs.
The GroundWork Zenith MET System offers Orbit Array Package options to measure plane of array, rear plane of array, and back-of-module temperature to meet PPA, ISO and owner/operator requirements.
The GroundWork Eclipse PV Module Measurement System delivers site-specific soiling and effective irradiance data. Eclipse data are used for capacity testing and operational plant performance monitoring.
The Eclipse measures short-circuit current, open-circuit voltage and back-of-module temperature from a pair of like modules. Data outputs are soiling ratio, temperature-compensated effective irradiance and back-of-module temperature.
GroundWork offers a stand-alone albedo measurement system to characterize surface reflectivity. Albedo measurement provides a site-specific input for monitoring bifacial systems.
