Resource Assessment for Solar Development

GroundWork datasets include global horizontal irradiance (GHI), PV soiling rates, albedo, diffuse horizontal irradiance (DHI), and other ancillary measurements.

GroundWork’s soiling kit assesses soiling conditions at a given project site to identify soiling trends, effects of weather events, and module cleaning requirements at specific locations. Our standard soiling kit includes a pair of PV modules; one is cleaned on a designated frequency while the other is left to soil naturally.
For clients considering bifacial module technology for their developments, GroundWork offers an albedometer system which can be integrated into the Rey MET system to measure albedo to model bifacial gains.
For cold weather project sites that could be affected by snow coverage on panels as well as benefit from increased albedo after fresh snowfall, GroundWork provides ultrasonic snow depth measurement as an option with our Rey MET system to aid site-specific performance modeling.
GroundWork offers the Weather Benchmarking Report to establish contractual values for what may be considered “extreme” weather during the construction of the plant. The Report gives solar plant owners and their chosen contractors a basis for what may be considered an acceptable delay in construction due to extreme weather.
