About Christopher Thuman
Chris has extensive experience in all stages of a renewable energy project’s life cycle – from project development through construction/commissioning and into operations and asset management. He joined GroundWork in 2025 and is excited about combining his love for meteorology and engineering in one place. Having been in renewable energy for more than 17 years and overseeing independent engineering reviews of multiple gigawatts of solar, energy storage, and renewable natural gas projects, he brings expansive knowledge in technical due diligence, engineering, construction, power plant operations, and financing activities. Chris holds a master’s degree in Environmental Science from Rutgers University and a bachelor’s degree in Meteorology from SUNY Oswego.
Outside of work, Chris loves spending time with his kids and family outdoors (camping or snowmobiling in his home state of New York), traveling as much as possible, eating chicken wings, and cheering on the Buffalo Bills.
